Corporate Video Production Services

Brand video for businesses, agencies and TV; shot on the ground or in the air. Made with love in Yorkshire.

Video Production: Higher Production Values

We create videos for businesses large and small because what we do cuts to the core of who you are as an organisation. In this video for Owen Mumford Pharmaceutical Services https://www.ompharmaservices.com we talk about the process of testing a new injection device. The video is produced for an audience of ‘experts’ within the Pharmaceutical Industry with a specific interest in drug delivery devices. This is therefore a very specialist piece of content, but the approach is fundamentally the same. We tell the story of the product and show how what happened. In this project we hired actors and a set to film a mocked up version of a human factors testing process. We also created some product shots on a turntable. The project was lit with our professional quality video lights and shot over a few days between Leeds and Oxford.

Video Production: Documentary Style Video Production

Producing a video with an authentic feel and an eye for human interaction is our thing. We regularly produce video for larger and smaller businesses which highlight the human stories behind their corporate value propositions. Videos like this can be produced relatively quickly and highly cost effectively, because they don’t require any staging and use only minimal lighting. The emphasis in videos produced like this is are the stories behind the businesses; the human results. It’s different to a ‘solutions focussed’ sales approach, because what we try to do is create a resonance with your audience, and allow them to see themselves reflected in the output.

Corporate film production

We want to get into your head, understand your objective and show your business in a way that best represents you. We can create a range of film and social media videos for various applications. All these examples will demonstrate how different a corporate video and film really can be.

The Ice Co film focuses on female leadership and family values; both are at the heart of what this company is all about. It represents three weeks of drone and ground work throughout the UK. It uses a mix of media such as animation and infographics which we created alongside our partners at Emerald Grove Studios.

The M+T Haylage film has a completely different feel. This is a corporate film created for a post-Brexit world. The client was keen to promote their ability to sell to the international market while presenting their expertise and passion for farming.

corporate film: what about television?

TV advertising isn’t something only accessible to huge brands. Your business can have the same opportunity and we can create broadcast-quality and broadcast-cleared video that can be shown on TV. On-demand services such as ITV Hub can be a great outlet for your film and it’s more affordable than you think.

We’ll usually include a social media friendly version of your film because we understand you’ll want to use it on all your accounts to maximum effect.

Video Production: Explainer Videos

We work across many sectors and many different industries. In this short video for www.hummingbird-holistics.co.uk in Harrogate, Katy explains to her customers what it is she does and invites potential new clients from the public to come and try a session. Videos like this are very much about de-mystifying what happens inside a business and also about helping new clients to trust the people who run it. Videos like this require little pre production, but rely on the talent of the main person on the screen. In this case that was not an issue, but sometimes it can be easier to hire actors or voice over actors. It depends on what you want the film to feel like and what the budget is too.

Here’s a video we produced for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, as an explainer for the services they provide at the Folk Hall in New Earswick. This video blends a few different styles of our approach, but is packaged differently; Here we take shots of ‘live action’ but structure them around a pre written script which was carefully pre-produced and then recorded in house using our own kit. Films like this require a little more planning and pre production, and despite being shot on location over a couple of days required a shot list and care to make sure that everything was covered. It has the look of a documentary style video, but the feel of something more polished. It also incorporates drone footage  which we shot ourselves.

corporate film: our approach

One size does not fit all, and this again is another example of how you can do something innovative and non-corporate for your corporate video. S.Evans & Sons Ltd were keen to move away from the standard interview set up, opting instead for something spectacular for this high-profile project film set at Scunthorpe at British Steel. The film featured in the explosive contractors win at the World Demolition Awards in 2019. Other work we have done for them has been shown on The Discovery Channel.

CORPORATE VIDEO PRODUCTION FAQ

Video production is a comprehensive process that involves the creation of a video, whether it be a short film, a feature-length movie, a corporate marketing video, a television commercial, a music video, or any other genre of film.

While the specifics of the process may vary depending on the unique requirements of the project, the overall process remains fundamentally the same.

In essence, video production comprises a range of activities, including pre-production planning, scripting, casting, filming, post-production editing, and final delivery.

This multifaceted endeavour demands a significant amount of work, but the results can be immensely rewarding, as they enable the realisation of a creative vision on a large or small scale.

When a film is being made, the visuals that the camera sees are recorded onto film, while in video production, the images are captured onto a tape or memory card.

Although film is becoming less and less common these days, many people still refer to video productions as “film productions” out of habit.

It’s kind of like how some people still call CDs “tapes” – old habits die hard, I guess!

Hope that helps clear things up for you. Lights, camera, action!

When you commission a video, you pay for the time and equipment of the people involved in creating the video itself, through the stages of pre production, production and post production.

Generally speaking, a low budget project would start at about £1,500+ VAT. Beyond that, the sky is the limit and it’s really up to you to decide what you want to spend.

But here is a tip; please have as clear an idea as to what you want to spend and be open about it from the outset. It’s the only way to understand if we can help you or not and to manage your expectation of what you can have in your video and how it will look.

It can take a whole morning working out lighting if done properly, or it can also be done ‘on the hoof’. Economies of scale can be achieved by shooting multiple videos in the same day, with one set up and this can be a really effective way of managing video.

A good corporate video is a video which allows the viewer to see who you are, not what you are.

Video is a window into the culture of the company.

If you’re an auto-cue company that will show.

Corporate video is a way of presenting your corporate or brand values through ‘normal’ communication. It allows your audience to see who you actually are, as opposed to what you say you are or what it is you do.

It’s a very powerful means of communicating your message.

How long a corporate video should be totally depends on who your video is for.

We’ve recently been producing 20 minute interviews. The majority of our projects tend to be about 3 minutes.

It depends if you are going for an ‘authority’ type video, where you want to demonstrate you are an expert, or if you want to go for a more informational viewpoint.

One will be much longer than the other.

The video production process itself is pretty clear. It’s all about planning, pre production, production and post production.

However there is something really fundamental which isn’t really spoken of often. That’s understanding your own ‘why?’

Why do you want a video?

Who are you and your company?

Why do you need a video to explain those things?

From that, you can start to understand the ‘what’. If you are looking to speak to a relatively small audience to simply alert them to your presence, like if you are a local service, then you can be pretty short and direct.

On the other hand, if you are a pharma company with a new product, it might be that you have no contact with the public yourselves, but want to show your downstream customers how it will work. It’s not always obvious.
